Interview preparation and procedures

Preparation
There are many ways in which you can prepare yourself for an interview with your employer. If you do all of the below, you will be well prepared for your interview.

1. Role playing: Role playing is a great way to practice answering questions and having a conversation with the employer in a professional way. You can role play with your friend or a family member.

2. Prepare answers: In interviews, there are many questions asked about why you should be chosen for the job. Prepare answers for these questions and practice them until they sound professional.

3. Learn: Before your interview, it would be a good idea to learn as much as you can about the job. This is good as it may show your employer that you are keen to have the job.

4. Clothing: Be sure you look good at the interview. Wear something that looks professional. Be sure to iron your clothes and polish your shoes!

Procedures

1. Transport: Be ready for your interview. Plan your transport. If necessary, have a practice and go to the location of your interview so that you know where it is, how to get there and how long it will take.

2. Time: Do not be late. Your first impression to the employer must be good. Be sure you get there at least 15 minutes early so that you can get ready and start thinking about the interview.

3. The interview: Be polite to the interviewer. Introduce yourself and shake hands with him/her. Be professional and answer questions as well as you can. Do not rush when you are talking. Always be sure about your answers, this shows your interviewer that you are confident. When the interview is over, shake hands again and thank him/her for their time.

4. After the interview: After the interview, think about how the interview went. You should write down things that you did badly or were not sure about, and learn it so that you are more confident and prepared for any future interviews.
